Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to by the name Ashanti was born October 13 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an actress and singer who hails from her native United States. Ashanti started her career as young teenagers, and she was later signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. That same year Ashanti was featured in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? She was also featured in Fat Joe's track What's the Luv? In the case of Foolish and The What's Luv as the top two songs and her first number one hit, she was the only woman to have two songs in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top Ten of the United States.
